February 15, 2019: Love is in the air! Romance is wonderful, but the love I’m talking about is radical. The love I’m talking about is an active verb. The love I’m talking about will challenge you to lay down your judgement and replace it with consideration.
In 2016, Pantone issued two Colors of the Year, Rose Quartz and Serenity, to acknowledge the heightened desire of consumers to “seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses.” While the digital age has certainly exacerbated the pace of life, we are also more aware of equity than ever before.
The duel colors represent a gender blur reflective of a long awaited societal shift towards gender equality, inclusivity, and fluidity. This is critical to the nature of our being. Our souls are genderless and our super powers spring forth from a well of talent that knows no barrier or boundary.
I am drawn to this combination because rose quartz is also the crystal representing unconditional love. It is the vibration that connects us to our highest self, each other, and source. Its infinite flow of divine energy creates the serenity achieved when our masculine energy (our analytical self) and feminine energy (our creative self) are in perfect balance for the unique combination of talent that makes us, us.
We spend most of our lives seeking this balance. And yet, regardless of whatever privileges we may or may not have, most of us live in the opposite of unconditional love, we live in toxicity. We feel unworthy. We feel shame in our being. We are crippled by the nagging voice in our heads. The one that plays on loop telling us that we are not enough.
How is it possible that most of us feel this way?
Inequality based on gender, race, religion, and sexual orientation are the headliners, but we marginalize each other all the time. Our parenting structure to date is frequently fueled by negative energy and faulty expectations, often hiding in the guise of love, but in reality cloaked in fear. Fear of all the “shoulds” dictated by the power and greed that is fueled by misunderstanding, misinterpretation and misogyny.
Fear is the most powerful tool of destruction. Its cruelest repercussion is what we learn to hold against ourselves. The not enough that leaves us paralyzed, unable to achieve the abundance that is our divine destiny.
Today let’s start creating a better tomorrow.
Connect in. Conquer fear. Celebrate wonder. Champion good.
